Dear Future Homeowners,

I will never forget turning onto Laurel Avenue, just like you, almost 6 years ago and the feeling of excitement that washed over me. I got out of our realtor’s car on this tree-lined street and quiet neighborhood, and made a bee-line for the backyard. As I opened the gate I got a pang of knowing that we’d have a little one playing back there. Now I understood why the other homes we’d seen in Maplewood, West Orange and other parts of Bloomfield weren’t quite “right.” We were home. From morning coffee and “meaning of life” talks on the front porch, to watching our little boy learn to walk, to hosting his first birthday party + first large gathering since the pandemic, this house holds so much joy and so many memories. 

Beyond the front door Laurel Avenue straddles the border between Bloomfield and Glen Ridge, and the whole neighborhood is bustling with young families. We will miss our neighbors that have become like family most of all. We are equidistant between Watsessing Park (Gabe loves going to see the ducks!) and Carteret Park, and two blocks away is Green Grocer and Skiddoo Café, where you’ll find a great cup of coffee. We are also a 15 minute walk to the train and only a 30 minute train ride into NYC which made commuting for work smooth and easy.
